Special premises

Teknikdalen has a number of companies specialised in the profile areas
of Transport and communication, Liquid crystals and Material processing.
The customised areas built for these companies are known as Teknikdalens
special premises.

LCD-centre
A laboratory for research and development in the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
field has been established in Teknikdalen. Here at the Swedish LCD Centre,
prototypes are built and new ideas tested. Researchers and LCD companies
use the laboratory, along with students who travel from around the world to
study liquid crystal technology here.

Material technology laboratory
The material technology laboratory, built when Teknikdalen was established, is
one of Swedens foremost in the field of advanced material and surface analysis.
The laboratory is used for research and educational purposes by Dalarna
University and private companies.

ITS-laboratory
A visual laboratory, under continuous development, provides an international
infrastructure for large-scale trial and demonstration projects. The Framtidsdalen
district is used as a national development and demonstration project
for road traffic solutions. Researchers from Dalarna University, traffic authorities
and private companies use the laboratory.

Incubator
The Teknikdalen Foundation provides innovators and entrepreneurs with technology-
based ideas from the academic world, research institutions, universities
and business with a system of broad-based and skilled support to stimulate
start and growth of new and existing companies.
